Vaccine induced Immune Thrombocytopenia and Thrombosis (VITT) and
Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) SUPPORT

Support Thrombosis UK's REGAIN Appeal, working to reduce the psychological impact of blood clots

Whether you have suffered vaccine induced immune thrombocytopenia and thrombosis (VITT) or a venous thromboembolism (VTE) the event can be sudden, unexpected, and potentially be life-threatening. As a result, harm caused by either may have a physical, life-changing impact or psychological impact – or both, and it is not unusual to experience emotional anxiety that is difficult to manage.

VITT causes blood clots to form in the blood vessels in different parts of the body including the brain, liver, gut, heart, legs, lungs and kidneys and is considered a medical emergency. If suspected, VITT needs urgent medical attention.

Published research has evidenced that survivors of a VTE or VITT event can experience significant psychological impact and may need psychological support.

Thrombosis UK is working to support individuals effected by these conditions, and has established a number of resources:
